Assignment Prompt

In this assignment, students will produce a 30–60 second kinetic typography video using Adobe After Effects. The objective is to explore the expressive power of type in motion, transforming text into a dynamic visual medium that interacts seamlessly with sound.

Each student will select an audio clip of their choice—whether spoken word, dialogue, or music—and design animated typography that complements and enhances the rhythm, tone, and emotion of the piece. This project emphasizes timing, pacing, and visual rhythm, encouraging thoughtful integration between auditory cues and typographic design to create a cohesive, engaging motion experience.
